Holy Frak!!! Time to Place Your Bets.

Alright toaster-lovers, this is your last chance to state for the record who you think is the final Cylon.

I am 85% sure of my guess but I will post it in the comment section in case anyone doesn't want to hear people's theories.

Time to put your reputation on the line.

WHO IS THE FINAL CYLON?

Are you chicken?

Doc. Cottle. I have many many many reasons why I think this, and in fact I am pretty sure that I have outlined them on this blog before.

Later I will give you my theory on how the show is actually going to end.

Tom...it'sbeentoolongcan'trememberhislastname.

Resistance leader, former VP, original Starbuck.

Zerrick.

I don't know. I don't think it's Starbuck or any of the Adama's. I had a flash of thinking it was Hera, but that doesn't really make sense to me. I think both Tom Zerrick and Doc Cottle are excellent guesses. Neither would surprise me.

I know they have said the final cylon is NOT in the "Last Supper" BSG photo, I have narrowed it down to 3 in no particular order though...
Tom Zareck:Once incarcerated for politically motivated terrorism, Zarek leveraged his reputation as a defender of persecuted people to become a charismatic politician in the human fleet's government. Denouncing Roslin, he supported Gaius Baltar, her opponent in the fleet's presidential elections, and was elected as vice president in the Baltar administration. After Baltar surrendered to the Cylons on New Caprica, however, Zarek refused to support the collaborationist government and thus found himself in Cylon detention alongside Roslin. There, the two reached a truce. After the colony's liberation, they worked together to restore Roslin to the presidency. Zarek now serves as her challenging, independent-minded and cunning vice president.

Romo Lampkin:This ambitious, persuasive and eccentric lawyer rarely goes anywhere without his sunglasses, a cat he claims to despise, and a few stolen trinkets (he's a kleptomaniac). At the beginning of his career, he apprenticed with Lee Adama's grandfather, Joseph, a well-known litigator. More recently, he used that fact to manipulate Lee into helping him defend Gaius Baltar from charges of treason. Now that Baltar has been acquitted, Lampkin is ready to move on to fame and fortune in the fleet's fledgling legal system. Whether the fleet is ready to forgive him for getting the hated Baltar off the hook, however, remains to be seen.

Doc Cottle: interestingly enough Cottle is the only "regular" character who doesn't have a Bio on the character's page of BSG on Scifi.com...hint maybe???

Romo is a an interesting choice. I wonder if his association with cat was significant in some way, regarding his Cylon status, showing that he was capable of projection. His demeanor is much odder than that of the humans we see, viewing people with more of a curious and academic bent than emotional.

I've thought about Doc Cottle--initially I ruled him out since he was so much older, but if Saul can be a Cylon and age, Doc could too. I think Doc could be interesting since he parallels...crap...Dean Stockwell (why can't I frakking remember any names and I haven't even had anything to drink?)

I chose Tom because it's interesting to the storyline, he's a character we've known since the beginning, and I like the parallel to Saul of having a resistance leader be Cylon. I had forgotten about the Last Supper pic and speculation, but that adds further support.

I want to think the final Cylon is female, but there's precious little choice. Starbuck and Laura would be poetic copouts, as would Hera. Dee, possibly, but I hope not. Gaeta would fit from a damage standpoint (since one could argue the Four we know are very damaged in their own ways). I think it will someone we've known for a long time and that the reveal will make total sense once we know without requiring a lot of retcon effort.

I fear that Callie will come back from the dead as the Final Cylon, thereby ensuring that I break out in hives, puke, shit my pants, and hyperventilate all at once. Gods, did I hate Callie.

What I wonder about is this: Hera's supposed to be such a big deal as the first human-Cylon hybrid. What about Chief's kid? And what would happen if Hera and Nicky aged two decades and had a child together? What if Baltar knocks up Tory? What if Starbuck and Sam have angry sex and she gets pregnant? The hybrid was supposed to be such a lynchpin, but she doesn't seem as special to me anymore and I think there has to be more to the storyline, especially with so many possibilities for more hybrids to come.

41 more minutes...

Anastasia Dualla.

Not that I have any real reason to believe this. I just googled "Battleship Whatsahoosit" and typed in the first thing I saw.

Right?

Well, at least now I know why they haven't made a big deal out of "Chief's" kid.
